The Honeymoon

This is a very narrow point in the river the train travels beside for most of the 1st day of the journey. The water currents here are so strong that they have had to build a special pass for the Salmon, as not enough were making it past here to the lakes up steam where they breed.

It is said that there is a deep basin below this rapid, and it is full of gold flakes washed down river, but the currents mean no one can get to it.
